Amber, 34, an Operating Room Nurse is a curious and engaging person who tends to her wellness on many levels. Not only is she prioritizing her health and the meaningful relationships in her life, but she also has a beautiful way of viewing her wellness through a spiritual lens, adding depth and meaning to her wellness explorations.
What Got Her Started
To be proactive about her health and her family history of preventable disease and lose 45 lbs.
Amber wanted to feel better in her body and gain confidence in prioritizing her health.
Amber saw the challenges her loved ones faced with prediabetes and decided to take action and do what she could to write a different story for herself and her health.
How She Made Such Amazing Progress
Amber started Personal Training at Pittsburgh FIT with coach Corey twice weekly and nutrition coaching with Heather. She committed to 12 weeks at the start to give her a chance to see changes taking place without the need to rush or succumb to fad diet programs and quick fixes.
In addition to prioritizing Strength Training, Amber utilized a high-protein diet, a regular fasting schedule, and water and fiber intake. And the results showed!
In six weeks, Amber was down 10 lbs of body fat mass and decreased her visceral fat level from 19 to 17!
She’s now feeling more energized, combating less fatigue, feeling less bloated, and excited about the changes in her body.
Why is fitness important in her life outside the gym?
As an OR nurse, Amber not only wants to prioritize her own ability to live well in her body but also to be a reflection of health in the medical field. Walking the walk is incredibly important to her and being a role model to her peers and patients will have a significant impact on those around her.
What's her new goal?
Long term, Amber wants to lose 30 more pounds to reach her goal weight.
Amber is continuing to focus on learning how to create sustainable health habit change so these shifts can be a way of life and not just another fad diet.
Moving forward, she is looking forward to continuing to improve her health and increasing her strength physically and mentally so she can help others with their health and wellness goals.
