Create Your Destiny

As the New Year approaches, people will be looking for a resolution to cling to in hopes of starting 2025 off strong.

For many individuals this means heading back to or stepping into a gym for the first time. Whether this is your first time, or you’ve been on a little hiatus PittsburghFIT is a great community to join and learn the skills to STICK to your resolution this year. Here are some tips to sticking to your fitness resolution this year:

Set a realistic goal.

It is great to set long-term goals to strive for all year long. However, know what is attainable for you in order to not get overwhelmed and discouraged when you cannot keep up. For example, if you have a very busy personal life, dont expect to be in the gym 7 days a week. Or if you have never run before, dont expect to run a marathon in a month! Start with small goals to hit and motivate you, then work on your end of 2025 goals.

Get Some Accountability

Whether that looks like a workout partner who meets you at every class, or a personal trainer who is waiting and helping guide you through every workout - having a person to be able to hold yourself accountable is a huge step.

Track Your Progress

Do this in whatever way is helpful to you. Weighing yourself daily often is not a safe way, but check in photos, trying on your favorite jeans, or occasionally doing an InBody scan can allow for you to track to see the progress and be propelled forward.

Remember why you started

There is a reason behind wanting to lose 10lbs other than the weight loss. Do you have trouble keeping up with grandchildren? Have a wedding coming up? Want your confidence back? Or want to lift heavier than your crappy ex? Keep a sticky note in your gym bag for days you don't want to to remember WHY you started.
