Sarah B. Builds Strength, Shatters Barriers

Sarah, 24 and an Autism Researcher, has the wonderful capacity to set their mind to something and then stick to it, this was evident every step of the way in their training and dietary changes. When Sarah isn’t slaying at the gym, they are working in autism research, playing video games, or painting!

Initial Goal

  • Reduce body fat, gain strength, and improve their running practice.
  • Learn to Be PROACTIVE about their health, not only to live long and well
  • Also to combat a family history of preventable disease.

How it Was Accomplished

Sarah jumped in with both feet, they started personal training 2x per week with Grace and nutrition coaching with Heather. Sarah implemented cooking at home, aiming for 120g of protein daily, prioritized water intake, and packing lunches.

Sarah lost 15 lbs, gained strength, felt better in their body, and gained confidence in the kitchen and the gym.

Why is fitness important in their life outside the gym?

When Sarah was looking for a gym, they wanted somewhere that would be a supportive environment for a neurodivergent person like themselves. After 3 months, this is what Sarah had to say about their experience, “I’m also not embarrassed to work out in front of other people anymore! It was a really big barrier for me before, but I’ve never once felt judged at Pittsburgh FIT.”

Diving into their own health goals helped Sarah foster closer friendships as they connected with friends over fitness, just one more bonus on a whole list of wins!

What is Sarah's NEW Goal?

To continue building strength!

Continue with their healthy habits and being actively engaged in their health and wellness.

In the future, Sarah is looking forward to climbing an Adirondacks Peak in New York! There are 46 to choose from!
