Every year on the 4th of July, we remember a brave Marine named Staff Sergeant Justin E. Schmalstieg. He was a hero who sadly lost his life while protecting our country. We want to honor his memory and show our respect.
Today's workout, Schmalls, starts with running 800 meters. Then, there are challenging exercises like burpees, pull-ups, squats, kettlebell swings, and handstand push-ups completed in big steady sets. After that, another 800-meter run follows to finish this workout off.
This event is not just about being strong and fit. It's a way for us to think about the sacrifices Staff Sergeant Schmalstieg made for us. We want to remember him and thank him for his bravery.
When we participate events like these, we join together as a community. We support and encourage each other to finish the workout as a whole. We remember Staff Sergeant Schmalstieg and all the other heroes who have protected us.
Even though this event can be tough, it reminds us that we can overcome challenges. It teaches us to be brave, just like Staff Sergeant Schmalstieg. We want to keep his memory alive and be grateful for the sacrifices he made.
