Turning Up the Heat

The air conditioning is officially on at Pittsburgh FIT! As temperatures approach the 90s, it's super important to be aware of what the heat and sun can do to you. We have a few tips and reminders for you to make sure that your fitness doesn't get lost and you keep the climb going!

  • Wear sunscreen - it protects your skin and decreases preventable cancer risk
  • Drink plenty of water (with salt!) - makes you more resilient to heat
  • Take workouts slower than usual for 7-10 days to acclimate to the heat
  • Listen to Your Body - trust the way that you feel and if you feel good, pick it up!
  • Workout in the Morning - Hit your HIGH intensity while it's still cool! Greg, Erika, Geremy, Dom and Marcus would love to see your smiling face in the morning!

On our end, we're focusing hard on coach education, we're improving our Group Fitness and Individual Programming, and we'll have plenty of PRs on the board this summer!

We're also really looking forward to Catch a Coach in August. This will pair perfectly with a Member Appreciate Month! Our plan is to host a FREE specialty clinic every Saturday in August. We'll cover a wide variety of specialities across our expert time. And we'll have our next set of t-shirt orders going out as well

We can't wait for a fun and exciting summer with all of you!
