Pittsburgh FIT is not your school gym. Nobody has their shirt off. It’s not LA or Planet Fitness.
We don’t have mirrors. We don’t like drama, cliques or judgment. We have a gender-neutral restroom and a huge Pride flag hanging from the ceiling. And everyone is smiling.
I had a pretty good time in high school. I was in honors classes, was on the diving team and was in the band. Luckily, some friends invited me into the weight room, made lifting fun, and kept me going until I got strong.
Lifting weights and exercising changed my life. I got confidence, gained knowledge, and learned how to better deal with stress. I put my hand up in class (huge nerd alert), looked people in the eye and felt good about myself.
Years later, I chose Pittsburgh FIT to share that same gift with others.
Exercise is a celebration of what your body CAN do. It’s never a punishment for what you ate.
We believe that success lies in finding something you can do over and over again with people that celebrate success with you. This is way more important than the perfect program or the most recent diet trend.
We believe in progress, not perfection.
We believe in coaching.
And we believe in making sure you show up again tomorrow.
Are there people that need a gym, a coach, and accountability that won’t be a fit for our community? Of course.
That means Pittsburgh FIT will never be the biggest gym in the city. It means we’ll probably never break any world records. But we’ll always be the best because of the people under our roof.
If you want to get fit, have fun and forget about high school, come in and talk to us. We’re not salesmen, either.
