Summer is here and it's the busiest season of the year for vacations and breaking routines. That being said, you can preserve or even continue to get MAJOR benefits while on vacation.
As we finish up the 6th month of the year, I thought I'd put together 6 tips for staying healthy and fit while your are away from your normal routine!
- Prioritize a heavy and healthy breakfast to fuel your day and avoid starting without eating. If breakfast is not provided, pack fruits and nuts for a nutritious start.
- Save money and eat healthier by buying groceries instead of dining out. Quick-to-cook foods like popcorn, eggs, soup, and oats are ideal options.
- Be mindful of hidden unhealthy ingredients in seemingly healthy dishes. Balance your meals and consider lighter options when planning a heavy dinner.
- Stay hydrated by drinking at least 80oz of water daily, especially in hot and humid destinations, to control appetite and maintain energy levels.
- Limit alcohol consumption to avoid hangovers and compounding bad decisions. Be conscious of your intake and aim for moderation.
- Stay active by incorporating exercise into your trip. Utilize hotel gyms, work out in your room or nearby parks, and prioritize walking to explore the destination.
We hope everyone is super excited for the summer sun, and we will DEFINITELY keeping it cool in the gym.
(PS - these tips are perfect for anyone that travels for work and has a tough time staying engaged while they're away from home!)
